About Our Company

As a new employee, you are probably wondering what type of company you chose to work with.

You might like to know Central Transport International, Inc. (often referred to as "Central Transport", "Central", "CTII" or "CT") is a privately held, family-owned, union-free company, and we are proud of it.
Our roots go deep and our employees are passionate about what they do.

CT began in 1946 as "Central Cartage".  Our company's founder, T.J. Moroun (pronounced "maroon"), owned a fueling station then.  He rented the rear of his building to Central Cartage, a small and at the time, struggling trucking company.  The owner of Central Cartage fell behind in rent and offered to sell part of the company to T.J. if T.J. would forgive the rent due and alleviate some of the company's debt.  T.J. accepted the offer, and our company began.

T.J.'s son, Matty Moroun, worked for his father while attending college.  Matty swept the backs of trailers while learning the business and earning a degree.  When the family business grew, however, Matty began helping his dad full-time.  As a mainly automotive-parts focused carrier, business picked up along with the auto industry.  The Morouns eventually bought the remainder of Central Cartage and through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, the company grew into a nation-wide, and now international, transportation service provider.

Matty still plays an active role in the company, but he has help.  His son, Matthew is the Vice-Chairman of Central Transport.  The family business is still the family business, now helmed by a third generation leader.  Matthew Moroun continues leading CT through innovative, strategic changes to keep us at the fore-front of the industry and maintain our growth as we become a world-class service provider.

What We Do

Central Transport is a LTL ("Less-Than-Truckload") service provider.  Our clients save money by consolidating shipments with those of other shippers, on our trailers.  In short, we offer customers a value proposition.  Our business model requires CT to continually seek ways to lower costs while enhancing services.  Customers can choose any provider to move their goods; they choose Central Transport because we offer exceptional "value-for service".

Try to keep this in mind as you complete your daily duties.  To attain our goals, we must focus on our core values:  Challenge conventional thinking, Thrive on customer success, Involve employees, and Innovate solutions.  Challenge, Thrive, Involve, Innovate.  That's C.T.I.I.

Welcome to the CT family.

Have a great career with CT!
